Butler's Nick Pantazi Named To All-Region Men's Soccer Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Butler junior Nick Pantazi was among 33 players named to the 2001 All-Great Lakes Regional Team, selected by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The Butler forward was picked to the second team of the Division I men's soccer honor squad.

Pantazi led the Horizon League in scoring last fall with 19 goals and five assists (43 points). He tied Butler's single season record for goals scored and points, while finishing with the second-highest shot total (76) in Butler history.

Butler won the Horizon League Tournament championship and advanced to the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship. The Bulldogs, who finished the 2001 campaign with an 11-9-0 record, fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Michigan State, 2-1.

The Great Lakes Region includes 27 NCAA Division I programs from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Kentucky and West Virginia. The NSCAA named a first, second and third team for All-Region honors.
