Butler men's soccer coach Kelly Findley has wrapped up his 2008 recruiting class with the addition of two more promising prospects. The third-year Butler coach has received commitments from junior transfer Jamal Robinson and incoming freshman B J. Stapleton to join the Bulldogs this fall.
Robinson, who attended Fort Wayne Northrop High School, is joining the Bulldogs after spending two seasons as a varsity player at Central Florida. He played in 30 matches, including 20 as a starter, for the Knights, and he had the unique achievement of scoring on his first two collegiate shots!
The 5-8, 152-pound midfielder was a three-time Most Valuable Player at Northrop. He was a four-year varsity starter in high school, and he earned All-District, All-Region and All-State honors. Robinson played for the Fort Wayne Fever club team, helping his club squad to regional championships in 2004 and 2005. He was a member of the Indiana ODP State Team, 2001-04, the Region 2 ODP Team and the USL Super Y National Team.
Stapleton, a 5-10, 170-pound midfielder, was a four-year varsity player at Evansville Reitz Memorial High School. He was a three-time All-City performer, a two-time All-District selection and a 2007 All-State player. A member of the Evansville Elite club soccer team, Stapleton played on the ODP Indiana State Team, 2003-06, and was a member of the ODP Region 2 Pool, 2004-06.
Earlier this year, Findley signed high school prospects Matt Hedges of Carmel High School, Ben Kissick of Ben Davis High School, and Scott Vail of New Palestine High School.
