Herron, Warren Win At #1 Doubles


INDIANAPOLIS - Junior Chris Herron and senior Bryce Warren picked up a tie-breaker win at No. 1 doubles but the Butler men's tennis team fell to a tough Drake squad, 7-0. 

The Bulldogs' top doubles duo won 8-7 (5) over Drake's top combo of Mauricio Ballivian and Anis Ghorbel. BU's No. 2 doubles team (seniors Lenz Theodor and Brandon Bayliss) also played competitively, falling 8-6 to DU's James McKie and Robin Goodman.

Herron was also Butler's best-faring singles player, falling 6-4, 6-4 to Ghorbel in the third spot. Herron was coming off a big win at No. 3 against Purdue on Saturday.

Drake improved to 4-0 with the win. The Bulldogs, playing one of the Midwest's toughest schedules, fell to 1-6.

Butler will continue its season Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Xavier. BU will also host Toledo next Sunday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m.
