DEKALB, Ill. - Freshman Austin Woldmoe, playing No. 1 singles, led the Butler men's tennis team in a 5-2 loss at Northern Illinois on Friday evening.
Woldmoe posted a three-set win at No. 1 over NIU's Maksym Bartiuk. Each set was 6-3, with Woldmoe winning the first and third sets. Woldmoe also posted an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles with freshman Billy Weldon.
In addition to the Woldmoe-Weldon combo at No. 1, BU was able to capture the doubles point with an 8-6 win by Tommy Marx and Stephen McLoughlin at No. 3 doubles.
Northern Illinois won the other five singles contests, each in straight sets.
