No. 2 Doubles Leads BU At Toledo

Despite picking up a win at No. 2 doubles, the Butler men's tennis team fell to host Toledo 7-0 on Saturday.

Senior Zach Ervin and freshman Tommy Marx teamed up for an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles, however, Toledo picked up the doubles point by winning at the other two spots.

At No. 6 singles, freshman Sam O'Neill dropped the opening set, but battled back to win the second set and force a tie-breaker. After a hard fought tie-breaker, O'Neill fell to Toledo freshman Roberto Meza 12-10.

Freshman Pulok Bhattacharya jumped out to an early lead at No. 3 singles by winning the first set 6-4. Toledo freshman Nicholas Wong responded to win the next two sets 6-0, 6-3, clinching the match.

After a three-match road trip, Butler will return home to host Xavier and Bradley this week.
