HORIZON LEAGUE BRACKET

The Butler men's tennis team, seeded sixth, will open Horizon League tourney play Friday afternoon vs. Youngstown State. Weather permitting, the tournament is hosted at North Central High School in Indianapolis.

The Bulldogs tied for sixth in the regular season standings with UIC with a 2-5 league mark. BU defeated the Flames 5-2 back on March 25 to earn the final spot in the bracket.

Butler and Youngstown State will be meeting for the second time in five days. The two teams played in the regular season finale at YSU, with the Penguins holding on for a 5-2 win. Freshman Austin Woldmoe and senior Zach Ervin won to lead Butler in that contest. Also, Woldmoe and Billy Weldon captured a victory at No. 1 doubles. The match was extremely close, as three other singles matches went three sets.

Head coach Jason Suscha has coached the Bulldogs to nine league championships, including six in a row from 2002-07. He was Horizon League Coach of the Year every year from 2002-06.

The Butler-Youngstown State match is set for Friday at 1 p.m. at North Central. Rain could move play to West Indy Racquet Club or to Butler's tennis bubble.
