Butler Tennis Teams Honored For Academic Performance

MEN'S ITA ACADEMIC AWARDS  |  WOMEN'S ITA ACADEMIC AWARDS

SKILLMAN, N. J. - The Butler men's and women's tennis teams have been recognized for their excellent performances in the classroom this year. Each squad received an ITA All-Academic Team Award. Butler was one of only 44 universities where both men's and women's teams were honored. 

To earn a team academic award from the ITA, a college tennis team must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or better.

Individually, 16 Bulldog tennis players were honored with ITA Scholar-Athlete Awards. The women's team, which went 15-9 this season, led the nation with 10 scholar-athlete honorees. Brown was second in the nation with eight. Furthermore, the Bulldog women's team was Butler's best academic team in the spring semester with a 3.633 team GPA. Cumulatively, women's tennis is the leading women's team at Butler.

To earn an ITA Scholar-Athlete Award, a tennis player must have a 3.5 GPA or better.
