Woldmoe Continues Winning Ways Into April

Freshman Austin Woldmoe prepares to serve during his No. 1 doubles match against Harvard.

Freshman Austin Woldmoe, who plays No. 1 singles and doubles for the Butler men's tennis team, has been BU's hottest player. Woldmoe is now 3-0 in league singles play and 2-1 against league doubles opponents.

Woldmoe, a Fishers, Ind., native, has won four of his last five in both singles and doubles. Last Saturday, the freshman beat Detroit's Nick Tolomei 6-1, 6-0 to move to 3-0 in league play. That same night, Woldmore defeated IUPUI's Nick Volz 6-3, 6-4. He won with teammate Billy Weldon at No. 1 doubles twice on Saturday as well.

The left-handed Woldmoe was named the league's player of the week on March 27 after picking up singles wins at Valparaiso and UIC.

Butler, which starts five freshmen, will play at Wright State Saturday, April 7.
