Sean Keefer joined the Butler men's tennis coaching staff in 2013. Previously, he had been an assistant for Wabash College's men’s tennis program.
Keefer, a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., brings a strong background of both collegiate and club teaching experience to Butler. He played No. 1 singles and doubles for four years at Hillsdale College and was awarded All-GLIAC honors. He also served as a student-coach and team captain for his final three years.
He served as the Head Tennis Professional for Pine Valley Country Club in Fort Wayne for three summers as well as two years serving as a tennis instructor for the Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Tennis program. He also partnered with the USTA and Boys & Girls Club of Fort Wayne to introduce tennis to underprivelaged children.
Keefer remains an active tennis player, playing in USTA leagues throughout the year. He recently to Tucson, Ariz., to compete in the USTA league championships after winning the State and Midwest Championship. He also was the runner-up in the Fort Wayne Men’s City Open Championships.
Keefer earned his bachelor’s degree from Hillsdale College and Master’s Degree at Indiana University. He also spent two years studying in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which enabled him to become fluent in Spanish. He is married to the former Gabriela Parisi, and they have two boys, Santiago and Ramiro. They are residents of Hamilton County.
