Columbus, Ohio - Butler ran up against tough competition in Ohio State on Wednesday (Jan. 21), as the No. 1 Buckeyes claimed a 7-0 decision over the Bulldogs at the OSU Varsity Tennis Center.
Ohio State picked up wins in all three doubles bouts before sweeping through the singles competition despite a spirited resistance by the Bulldogs.
Junior Ben Raynauld scored wins in six games before succumbing to the #6-ranked Justin Kronauge at the No. 1 singles position, 6-3, 6-3. Sophomore Brandon Bayliss came up short of forcing a third set at No. 4 singles, battling Matt Allare before falling 6-1, 6-4.
Butler takes on its third-straight Big Ten foe on Saturday (Jan. 24) when it heads to Madison, Wis., for a 4:00 p.m. match against the Badgers.
