Butler Men's Tennis Team Dominates Dayton, 6-1

DAYTON, OHIO - The Butler men's tennis team won its third straight match and improved to 11-6 overall with a 6-1 victory over Dayton on Tuesday (April 1) at the Flyers' outdoor courts.
The Bulldogs swept the doubles point as Kevin Gill joined brother Brandon to capture an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles over Rob Altonau and Jon Khoury while Aubrey Annan and Scott Newmark teamed up to defeat Mike Schissler and Chris Barnes, 8-6, at the No. 2 spot. Peter Voelz and Mike Weaver completed the sweep with an 8-4 triumph over Jamison Downs and Reeves Kathary at No. 3 doubles.
Kevin Gill led off singles action with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Altonau at the No. 1 position. Voelz followed with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over D.J. Gebhart at No. 2. Newmark posted a 6-1, 6-4 win over Schissler at the No. 4 position and Annan defeated Downs 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5. Bordow rounded out the scoring with a 3-6, 6-0, 1-0 (5) win over Barnes at the No. 6 position
The lone blemish to Butler's day was Brandon Gill's 6-3, 6-4 loss to Khoury at the No. 3 position.
The Bulldogs will host Horizon League foe UIC on Saturday (Apr. 5) in a 1 p.m. match at the Butler Tennis Bubble.
