Bloomington, Ind. - Sophomore Lenz Theodor tallied a victory in the first round of singles play and two Butler doubles tandems scored wins of their own as the Bulldogs wrapped up the first day of the first competition of the 2008-09 season at the Indiana Invitational on Friday (Sept. 12) evening.
Theodor topped Jim Capalbo of Western Illinois in straight sets with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph and advances to the second round of play. He is the lone Butler player to move on to the winner's portion of the singles bracket.
The Butler doubles team of Chris Herron and Bryce Warren notched a victory in the first round, topping Zach Frisch and Andy Jones of WIU, 8-4, before falling in the second round to Michigan State's Jason Norville and John Allare.
