Bulldogs Close Fall Season At ITA Regionals

Minneapolis, Miinn. - The Butler men's tennis team wrapped up its fall season this weekend in Minneapolis at the ITA Midwest Regional at Baseline Tennis Center. Senior Eric Breitenbach and sophomore Ben Raynauld each scored singles wins in the tournament.

Breitenbach opened up the tournament with a two-set decision over Gian Hodgson of Wisconsin, topping the Badger 6-4, 6-2. Raynauld, meanwhile, scored a strong opening win over Sven Burus of Toledo in a 6-2, 6-4 match.

A 6-3, 6-4 defeat to Ben Hartman of DePaul ended Breitenbach's run, however, while Raynauld forced a third set against Dominic Ozanne of Ohio State before falling in three, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3.

Freshman Bryce Warren battled UIC's Bastian Harbo to a third-set in his opening round match before falling 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.

In doubles competition, Brandon Bayliss and Sam Brown dropped an 8-0 decision to Xavier, while Raynald and Warren came up on the short end of an 8-4 match against Purdue.
