Indianapolis, Ind. - After performing at an exceptional level during the regular season, Butler sophomores Bryce Warren and Brandon Bayliss were named to the 2009 All-Horizon League Men's Tennis Teams. The league office made the announcement on Friday (April 24). Warren earned a spot on the all-league first team, while Bayliss was tabbed to the second team.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Warren leads the team with 18 singles wins and is tied for second with 15 doubles victories. He scored a pair of singles wins against Big Ten opponents, including a two-set victory over Luke Rassow-Kantor of #31 Wisconsin. He has played three of his last four singles matches at the top spot, scoring two wins, and has played every doubles bout at the top spot.
The award is Warren's first league honor of his career.
A native of Sheboygan, Wis., Bayliss boasts a team-high 13 dual meet singles victories, winning seven of his last nine and 11 of his past 15 singles bouts. He is 3-0 on the year when playing at No. 1 or No. 2 singles and is undefeated in conference play in doubles competition.
It is the second season that Bayliss has been recognized by the league. He picked up the Newcomer of the Year award and was named to the all-newcomer squad last season as a freshman.
