Oct. 9, 2008

The Butler men's tennis team continues its rigorous fall season this weekend when it heads up I-65 to West Lafayette for the Purdue Fall Invitational from Saturday through Sunday (Oct. 11-12).

Competition kicks off at 9:00 a.m. both days at the Schwartz Tennis Center. The tournament will feature four singles flights and two doubles flights.

Bulldog sophomores Bryce Warren and Lenz Theodor have paced the squad in singles play this fall, with Warren touting a team-best five singles wins and Theodor checking in with four. The doubles tandem of sophomore Brandon Bayliss and junior Ben Shafer, meanwhile, carries a three-match winning streak into the tournament after rolling to the Flight "D" title at the Ball State Fall Invitational last weekend.

Following the Purdue Invitational, the Bulldogs head to Columbus, Ohio, from Oct. 16-19 for the ITA Regionals.
