INDIANAPOLIS - The Butler women's basketball team celebrated another 20-win season at its postseason team banquet, held at Snooty Fox restaurant in Indianapolis.
Seniors Brittany Bowen and Chloe Hamilton, the team's top two scorers and rebounders who earned second team All-Horizon League honors this year, were named co-team MVPs. The program also awarded its offensive and defensive player awards to Bowen and junior Devin Brierly, respectively.
Bowen averaged 15.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while shooting .400 from 3-point range and .866 from the free throw line. Hamilton ranked third in the nation and first in the Horizon League with a .594 field goal percentage, averaging 14.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Brierly started 30 games and ranked third on the team in minutes played, often guarding the other team's top perimeter player.
The team's Coaches' Award went to senior guard Azjah Bass for her leadership, commitment to the program and positive attitude. Head coach Beth Couture also handed out basketballs for career scoring achievements to Bowen and senior Alyssa Pittman. Bowen finished with 1,461 career points and Pittman scored 1,397. Additionally, the team awarded its Sixth Man Award to someone in the program who goes above and beyond. This year's award went to Becca Davies.
