Butler women's basketball head coach Beth Couture will once again be participating in the Walk of Hope, a breast cancer fundraiser organized by St. Vincent Foundation. Couture, the honorary chairwoman of St. Vincent Women of Hope, will be walking 15 miles this weekend in nearby Zionsville.
Couture, a breast cancer survivor, has been chairwoman of the event for the last few years and is a featured speaker at the Walk of Hope. This year, she will be presenting the 2012 Woman of Hope Award at the opening ceremonies.
Couture's fundraising team, the Bulldogs, has raised thousands of dollars to help combat breast cancer. The Butler head coach was diagnosed in 2009 and immediately underwent treatments. She finished her treatments just as the 2009-10 season was beginning and she did not miss a single game or practice.
