Beth Couture Receives Contract Extension Through 2006-07 Season

INDIANAPOLIS, IND.-Butler head women's basketball coach Beth Couture received an extension on her contract that will be good through the 2006-07 season, the Butler athletic department announced today. Couture, who just completed her first season at Butler, helped guide the Bulldogs to a 6-23 record this season, which doubled the team's win total from the 2001-02 campaign.

"We really feel good about the progress our women's basketball team made this season, and we feel our coaching staff has laid a solid foundation for the future," said Butler Senior Women's Administrator Carol Reep. "Beth's hard work and dedication with this team this season was appreciated by all."

The Bulldogs will return 12 letterwinners, including all five starters, to next year's team.
