March 15, 2007

Indianapolis, Ind. - Butler women's basketball assistant coach Rachel Bullard has been named as a member of the South Atlantic Conference Hall of Fame class of 2007, the conference announced on Wednesday (March 14).

The former Rachel Sloan was a three-time All-American and was twice named the SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year while playing at Presbyterian (S.C.) College, where she guided the Blue Hose to a 97-24 record, three-straight South Atlantic Conference regular season and tournament titles and three appearances in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

She still reigns as the school's all-time leader in career points (1,889) and rebounds (1,034) while ranking fifth and sixth, respectively, in conference history. She is also the only Presbyterian women's basketball player to have her jersey retired.

After leaving Presbyterian, she focused on a career as a basketball coach, with stints at Laurens (S.C.) High School, George Washington Community School and Lawrence Central High School before joining the Butler staff this past summer.
