Butler to Offer One-Day Shooting Camp June 12

The Butler women's basketball staff has scheduled a one-day shooting camp for Saturday, June 12. The fee for the camp is $65 with lunch provided. The camp will feature instruction and drill work in shooting with Boys and girls in grades 3-12 are eligible to attend. Hinkle Fieldhouse will serve as host for the camp, which runs from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs ranked 45th in the nation last season in three-pointers made per game, knocking down more than six treys a game. Four of the Bulldogs-- Maria Marchesano (.418), Ellen Hamilton (.371), Jessica Monaco (.368) and Jackie Closser (.361)--were among the Horizon League leaders in three-point field goal percentage throughout the season. Hamilton and Closser also finished among the league leaders in three-pointers made per game.
Head coach Beth Couture, her staff and several of the players will conduct the camp. Couture's staff has more than 35 combined years of coaching experience, including more than 20 seasons as head coaches. The Bulldogs improved to 9-7 in league play in 2003-04, tying for fourth in the Horizon League standings. In coach Couture's two seasons at Butler, the team has at least doubled its win total from the previous season.
