Advance Tickets Available for Nov. 18 Season Opener at Purdue

Butler is offering Bulldog fans the opportunity to purchase tickets to the women's basketball team's season opener at Purdue Nov. 18 in advance of game day. Butler's ticket office has a limited number of general admission tickets available for purchase. Adult tickets are $10 and youth tickets are $5.
Those interested in purchasing tickets should contact Matt Harris, Butler athletic ticket manager, at (317) 940-9390. The deadline to purchase tickets through the Butler ticket office is November 15.
The tip is set for 7 p.m. in West Lafayette, Ind.
The USA Today/ESPN Top 25 preseason poll was released Tuesday (Nov. 1). Butler head coach Beth Couture is one of 31 coaches voting on this season's poll. Tennessee claimed the top spot in the poll. Purdue, the Bulldogs' opponent in the season opener, begins the year ranked No. 23. UW-Green Bay did not crack the Top 25, but did receive votes. The first regular season poll is set to be released Tuesday, Nov. 15.
Former Bulldog Nancy Bowden (2000-04) scored four points and added three assists for the Ohio Legends in an exhibition game at Ball State Tuesday (Nov. 1). Cortney Urquhart (2001-05) is playing with the Hoosier Lady Stars during the exhibition season and will be on the opposing side of the court in the Bulldogs' exhibition at Hinkle Fieldhouse Nov. 9. The tip is set for 7:30 p.m.
Head coach Beth Couture will join Butler men's coach Todd Lickliter, Horizon League commissioner Jon LeCrone and Butler president Bobby Fong in addressing fans Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the annual Butler Basketball Media Day. Butler Athletics is planning a live video stream of both Media Day and the women's exhibition Nov. 9. The stream for both events will be free on www.butlersports.com. The stream for Media Day festivities will include remarks by both Couture and Lickliter and begins at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Butler's regular season game at UW-Green Bay has been moved from Saturday, Jan. 21 to Sunday, Jan. 22 to accommodate ESPNU, which will be airing the game live at noon (CST, 1 p.m. Indianapolis). ESPNU will also carry the 2006 Horizon League women's basketball championship game live on March 6. ESPNU, which reaches more than 7.5 million homes nationally, debuted in March of 2005.
