Bulldogs Finish Third At Spring Fling
ORLANDO, FLA. -- Sophomore Michele Nash tied for third in the
final individual standings and Butler wound up third in the team
competition in the St. John’s Spring Fling at Mission Inn
Resort in Orlando, Fla. The 36-hole tournament wrapped up on
Sunday, March 14.
Nash carded rounds of 81 and 83 to finish with a 36-hole total of
164. She tied with Jaymie Voorhess of Eastern Illinois for
third place, two strokes behind co-leaders Jordan Woods and Kristi
O’Brien, both of IUPUI.
Junior Marcella Moreman placed sixth in the competition with a
two-round score of 167 (84-83), one stroke ahead of teammate Molly
Fields (82-86) in seventh place. Sophomore Clare Cornelius
(91-88) and freshman Julia Porter (86-93) tied for 12th place with
final totals of 179, while junior Allison Lipps placed 14th with a
final score of 180 (89-91).
Eastern Illinois won the three-team competition with a team score
of 670, while IUPUI finished one stroke back. Butler was
three strokes back with a 673.
