Michele Nash Named Horizon League Golfer of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Sophomore Michele Nash, who helped Butler to a third place team finish at the Loyola Invitational, has been named Horizon League Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week for the period of April 7-13.  She’s the second Butler golfer to be honored by the League this spring.

Nash posted a runner-up finish in the individual competition at the Loyola Invitational.  She shot a one-over-par 73 on the opening day of the 36-hole tournament, and then closed with a 77 for a total score of 151.  She trailed individual medalist Lindsay Wandrey of Western Illinois by a single stroke in the final standings.  Nash recorded the tournament’s lone eagle, and she finished with a tournament-high seven birdies

Earlier this spring, Butler’s Marcella Moreman earned Horizon League Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week honors.
    
Butler will begin its quest for a league title at the 2010 Horizon League Women’s Golf Championship on Saturday, April 24.  The 54-hole tournament will be held at Kearney Hill Links in Lexington, Ky.
