Molly Fields Paces Butler In Florida Meet
JACKSONVILLE, FLA. -- Senior Molly Fields finished second in the
individual competition and Butler lost a tiebreaker to IUPUI for
the team title in a four-team meet that concluded at Windsor Park
Golf Club in Jacksonville, Fla., on Thursday (March 17). The
meet wrapped up Butler’s week-long trip to the Sunshine
State.
Fields shot an opening round 81 on the par-72 course and then
closed with an 80 to finish second with a 36-hole total of
161. She placed runner-up to Kristi O’Brien of IUPUI,
who shot a two-day total of 154 (78-76).
Butler junior Michele Nash was third in the 22-player field with
back-to-back rounds of 81 (162). Junior Clare Cornelius
finished with a 165 (80-85), while senior Marcella Moreman carded a
170 (85-85). Sophomore Julia Porter posted a 176 (88-88) and
sophomore Ali Arends finished with a 182 (94-88).
Butler and IUPUI each posted a final team score of 658, while
Eastern Illinois finished third with a 668. Green Bay closed
out the four-team field with a 697.
