Michele Nash Earns Horizon League Recognition
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Butler junior Michele Nash, coming off a
pair of “Top 10” individual performances, has been
named Horizon League Women’s Golfer of the Week. She
earned the league’s top honor for the second time this
season.
Nash shot a 78 and finished runner-up in the individual
competition, while helping Butler to the team title at the Big Four
Classic, held at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind., to begin
the week. She tied teammate Clare Cornelius for
tournament-high honors with three birdies in the four-team
meet.
The Indianapolis native then led the Bulldogs to a sixth place team
finish at the Brown Bear Invitational in Barrington, R.I. She
tied for tenth in the final individual standings with a 36-hole
total of 149, just two strokes shy of a “Top 5”
tournament finish. Nash carded a team-best 74 in the first
round and then posted a team-best 75 in the final round.
The Butler junior was 11-over-par for her three rounds on the
week.
Nash and the Bulldogs will return to action on April 22-24 at the
Horizon League Championship at Mission Inn Resort in
Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla.
