Nash Tied For Third At NCAA Regional

First Round Results

Butler's Michele Nash, who shot an even-par 72, is tied for third place in the individual standings after the first round of the NCAA Central Regional women's golf tournament being held at Notre Dame's Warren Golf Course.  The 54-hole tournament will continue on Friday and Saturday, May 6-7.

Nash was one of eight golfers to shoot even par on the first day.  The eight trail Ani Gulugian of UCLA and Nicole Zhang of Notre Dame, who share the lead at one-under-par 71.

Molly Fields carded a 79 and was tied for 67th after the first day, while Marcella Moreman was tied for 79th after shooting an 80.  Julia Porter (T-118) posted an 85 and Clare Cornelius (125) shot an 88.

Butler enters the second round in a tie with Michigan for 20th place with a team score of 316.  Second-ranked UCLA leads the tournament at 291.

The opening round was delayed for 75 minutes by frost.  The 24 teams will return to the course for second-round play at 8 a.m. (ET) on Friday.
