Michele Nash Ties For Second At State Amateur
Butler golfer Michele Nash posted a 54-hole score of even-par
216 and tied for second place in the Indiana Women’s Golf
Association State Amateur Championship, which concluded at Anderson
Country Club on Wednesday, July 14. She was one of five
Butler golfers competing in the three-day state tournament.
Nash was the tournament leader heading into the final round, after
carding a 75 on the first day and a three-under par 69 in the
second round. She finished with an even-par 72 in the final
round. Milena Savich of Carmel shot a two-under-par 70 on the
final day and finished one stroke ahead of Nash in the final
standings, while Lyndsay McBride of Bristol carded a five-under par
67 in the final round to catch Nash in second place.
Butler’s Clare Cornelius tied for 20th in the event with a
three-day total of 233 (77-75-81), while teammate Marcella Moreman
tied for 27th at 236 (79-80-77). Also competing from Butler
were Julia Porter, who tied for 46th place (79-84-79, 242), and
Allison Lipps, who tied for 57th (83-80-88, 251).
Moreman and Lipps will be seniors at Butler this fall, Nash and
Cornelius will be juniors and Porter will be a sophomore.
