Bulldogs Tie For Eighth At Memphis Invitational
GERMANTOWN, TENN. -- Junior Clare Cornelius posted a “Top
10” individual finish and Butler wound up tied for eighth in
the team competition at the weather-shortened Memphis Women’s
Invitational, which wrapped up on Tuesday (Oct. 26). Illinois
captured championship in the 18-team event held at Ridgeway Country
Club.
Cornelius shot a team-best 75 in the first round of the scheduled
54-hole tournament. She came back with a 78 in the second
round, which concluded on Tuesday after being suspended by
darkness. The third round was eventually cancelled because of
storms in the Memphis area. Her two-round total of 153 left
her one stroke out of fifth place and three strokes behind third
place.

16th overall with rounds of 82 and a team-best 73 (155), while
junior Michele Nash tied for 37th with rounds of 80 and 81
