Butler Places Fourth At Butler Invitational
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Junior Michele Nash came in fourth in the
individual competition and led Butler to a fourth place team finish
at the Butler Fall Invitational women’s golf tournament at
Eagle Creek Golf Course on Tuesday, Oct. 5. The Bulldogs
trailed Green Bay by two strokes in the final team standings.
Nash shot back-to-back rounds of three-over-par 75 and finished
one-stroke behind Jordan Magruder of Western Kentucky and Breanne
Neufeld of team champ Bradley in a tie for second place.
Kelly Amundrud of Bradley claimed medalist honors with a
one-under-par 143. The Butler scoring leader tied for the
tournament lead in par 3 scoring (-2) and tied for fifth in the
meet in total birdies (5).
Senior Molly Fields tied for 15th overall with rounds of 76 and 79
(155), while sophomore Julia Porter tied for 20th at 157
(81-76). Senior Marcella Moreman tied for 27th with rounds of
79 and 80 (159) and sophomore Alexandra Arends tied for 57th at 167
(86-81).
Freshmen Lauren Patishall and Ali Restaino both competed as
non-scoring individuals for the Bulldogs. Patishall tied for
53rd with back-to-back rounds of 83 (166), while Restaino tied for
68th with a 36-hole score of 171 (83-88).
Bradley shot back-to-back rounds of 301 to claim the title, while
Western Kentucky finished runner-up at 613. Green Bay shot a
team score of 619 and Butler finished with a 621.
