Butler Signs Two Women Golfers
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Butler golf coach Bill Mattingly wrapped up his fall women's golf recruiting with the addition of two promising Wisconsin golfers. Isabella Lambert of Catholic Memorial High School in Big Bend, Wis., and Jenna Peters of Kohler, Wis., High School both signed letters of intent to join the Bulldogs next fall.
"I'm very happy to have Isabella and Jenna join the Butler team," said Mattingly. "They both have passion for the game, and both have performed at a high level in state and national events. I'm confident that they will be great additions to our women's team next fall."
Lambert played in four Wisconsin High School State Championships at Memorial and posted three "Top 10" individual finishes. She placed sixth as a sophomore, seventh as a junior and fourth as a senior, and she was named to the All-State Team in 2008, 2009 and 2010. A National Honor Roll student, Lambert has posted multiple wins on the Wisconsin Junior Tour.
Peters, also a multiple winner on the Wisconsin Junior Tour, is a three-year letterwinner on the Kohler Boy's Golf Team and was a 2010 Regional Champion. She earned 2009 Wisconsin Women's All-State recognition, and she qualified for the 2010 USGA Girls Junior. A multi-sport athlete and National Honor Society student, Peters is a four-year varsity player on Kohler's Girls Tennis Team, where she qualified for the State Tournament three times. She's also a four-year starter on Kohler's Girl's Basketball Team.
Butler will resume its 2010-11 women's golf season on Feb. 27-28, at the Ann Rhodes Invitational in Birmingham, Ala.
