Butler senior Michele Nash tied the school record and grabbed the individual lead after the first round of the Memphis Women's Invitational, being held at Ridgeway Country Club in Memphis, Tenn. The Bulldogs carded a team-total of 310 and stood fourth after the first 18 holes of the 54-hole tournament.
Nash carded a two-under-par 69 in the opening round to take the top spot in the 68-player field. Her effort tied the school mark set by Lauren Showers at the Butler Fall Invitational in 2007.
Freshman Jenna Peters shot a 79 and was tied for 28th after the first round, while freshman Isabella Lambert and senior Clare Cornelius were tied for 37th at 81. Junior Julia Porter ended the first round in a tie for 63rd at 87.
The second round of the tournament wasn't completed because of darkness. Play will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
