Isabella Lambert Claims Big Four Medalist Honors

CARMEL, IND. -- Sophomore Isabella Lambert won individual honors, while helping Butler to a runner-up finish in the team competition at the Big Four Classic on Thursday, April 11.  DePauw won the four-team event at Crooked Stick Golf Club.

Lambert pulled away from the field with a two-under-par 34 on the back nine of the 6,181-yard Crooked Stick layout.  Her final score of one-over-par 73 was three strokes better than runner-up Kelsey Smith of DePauw.

Jenna Peters finished second for the Bulldogs and tied for fourth overall with a one-round total of 80, while Julie Porter tied for seventh in an 82.  Ali Arends and Nicole Johnson tied for tenth with rounds of 86.

DePauw, with four golfers among the top seven individuals, posted a team score of 317, four strokes better than the Bulldogs.  Hanover finished third with a 367, while Franklin was fourth at 371.

The Butler women will wrap up their regular season at the UE/Butler Challenge in Jasper on Monday, April 15.  The Bulldogs will compete at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship in Orlando, Fla., April 26-28.
