Lookout Mountain, Ga. - The first round of the UTC Lady Mocs Classic on Monday (April 6) proved to be the only round of the tournament, as the event was cut short due to inclement weather in the area. The Bulldogs completed the 18 holes in ninth place with a team score of 359.
Freshman Michele Nash paced the squad with an opening round score of 86, good for a tie for 22nd place overall. Senior Lauren Showers ended up two strokes back in a tie for 33rd with a score of 88, while freshman Clare Cornelius posted an 89 to finish tied for 39th.
Playing the event as an individual, sophomore Molly Fields put up a strong showing with a one-round score of 87, good for 29th overall.
Kentucky garnered the team title with a score of 325, while the Wildcats' Mallory Blackwelder posted a medalist round of 77.
Butler returns to competition on Thursday (April 9) when it
takes part in the one-day Big Four Tournament beginning at 1:00
p.m. at Crooked Stick Country Club in Carmel, Ind.
