Bulldogs Finish Third In Butler Spring Invitational

Senior Kristi Laskowski survived the wet and chilly conditions at Prestwick Country Club and shot an 18-hole score of 83 to help Butler to a third place team finish at the Butler Spring Invitational held on Monday, March 24. The final round of the tournament was cancelled because of inclement weather.
Laskowski shot a 38 on the front nine and then closed with a 45 to tie for fourth place in the final individual standings. Jill Stein and Sarah Sparks of Xavier tied for medalist honors with identical scores of 81.
Joining Laskowski with a "Top 10" individual finish was Butler senior Melanie Macleod, who placed 10th with an 85. Rounding out Butler's scoring team were freshman Abby Seger, who finished in a tie for 16th (88), sophomore Joni Reynolds, who tied for 22nd (90), and junior Wendy Jo Kramer, who tied for 25th (91). Senior Samantha Keith, playing as a non-scoring individual, tied for 22nd with a 90.
Xavier captured the team title with a final score of 335, followed by Eastern Illinois at 339. Butler posted a team score of 346, followed by Loyola (353), Cleveland State (364), IUPUI (370) and Oakland (376).
