Butler Finishes Fourth At Chris Banister Gamecock Golf Classic

Senior Paige McCracken tied for 11th place in the final individual standings and Butler placed fourth in the team competition at the Chris Banister Gamecock Golf Classic, which concluded on Sunday (Sept. 9). Tennessee-Chattanooga won the 54-hole, nine-team event held at Silver Lakes Golf Course on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Alabama.

McCracken carded rounds of 77, 74 and 80 for a three-day total of 231. She tied with Theunette VanderWall of Nicholls State and Ashley Cox of host Jacksonville State, one stroke behind Jordan Hardy of Birmingham Southern in 10th place. Kelly Brotherton of Tenn.-Chattanooga captured medalist honors with a 54-hole score of even-par 216.

Butler also picked up "Top 20" finishes from sisters Lauren and Lynnsey Showers. Lauren tied for 14th place with scores of 80, 77 and 75 (232), while Lynnsey came in 19th with rounds of 77, 80 and 77 (234).

Rounding out Butler's five-player squad were Niki Garden, who came in 37th with rounds of 86, 80 and 82 (248), and Ashlen Christie, who placed 41st with scores of 82, 88 and 86 (256).
