Butler Women's Soccer Thrives In Classroom

The Butler women's soccer had a banner year in the classroom during the 2009-10 academic year. The Bulldogs posted a combined team GPA greater than 3.50 in both the fall and spring semesters.

During the fall semester, Butler women's soccer - despite being in season - registered a 3.521 team GPA. Nine players had a fall GPA of 3.60 or higher, including two with a 4.00.

The spring semester was just as good, with the team boasting a 3.502 team GPA and three student-athletes with a 4.00 GPA. Twelve players had a GPA of 3.60 or higher.

"Academics, along with service, is something we always emphasize here at Butler," head coach Tari St. John said. "A team GPA of 3.5 demonstrates the hard work and studious habits of the women on our team."

Butler will begin its 2010 soccer season Friday, Aug. 13 with an exhibition vs. IPFW. The regular season opener is Friday, Aug. 20 at Dayton.
