The Butler women's soccer team recently participated in a community service event, collecting money and food for the needy in conjunction with Gleaners Community Food Bank of Indiana.
The Bulldogs participated in the event at Lucas Oil Stadium during the Indianapolis Colts-New England Patriot s football game. Fans entering the stadium brought bags of canned and non-perishable food items for the drive and also donated money to the cause. The event is in its 4th year.
"It was a good experience," BU goalkeeper Jessica Schein said. "It had nothing to do with us, or the Butler women's soccer program, but it was a group of girls trying to do something to give back. It was unbelievable to see my teammates out of their element and interacting with people for a good cause."
