TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Freshman forward Katie Griswold scored two goals and senior Angie Muir had two assists as the Butler women's soccer team routed Indiana State, 3-1, Sunday afternoon. BU posted season highs in goals and shots in the victory.
Griswold and Muir sparked Butler's offensive onslaught, helping the Bulldogs score all three of their goals in a 15:46 span in the first half. Freshman Rachel Scott started the scoring at the 28:29 mark, taking a cross from senior Carrie Twyman in the center of the goalie box and sending a shot past ISU keeper Taylor Nelson.
Butler (3-4-0) took a 2-0 lead at 38:37 when Griswold got her first goal of the match - and of her Butler career - on a pass from Muir in the center of the box.
The Sycamores answered in the 44th minute, with Alison Gasparovich scoring at 43:36. ISU's Laura Terry was credited with an assist.
The Bulldogs got the goal back just 44 seconds later, with Muir hooking up with Griswold again to finish the scoring flurry.
