Butler Women's Soccer Community Service Update

In addition to getting ready for its 20th season of competition, the Butler women's soccer team has been active in the Indianapolis community. The Bulldogs will also have several in-season community service initiatives.

During preseason camp, the women's soccer team volunteered at the Shepherd Community Center in Indianapolis. The players helped the center get ready for the school year, prepping classrooms and organizing teaching materials. Additionally, the team spent time at the Common Ground Christian Church and the Heritage Place, an organization that provides services to the elderly. The student-athletes also volunteered at the Coburn Place, a facility for battered women and children.

The Bulldogs will also host a few pre-game youth soccer clinics as part of the Indiana Youth Soccer Association's Community STARS initiative. The clinics will be before three Sunday home matches this season (Sept. 26 vs. Wright State, Oct. 3 vs. Valparaiso, Oct. 24 vs. Cleveland State).

In addition, Sunday, Oct. 3 will be Butler women's soccer's TOP Soccer activity. TOP Soccer is an organization that teaches and fosters the love of soccer to mentally and physically disabled children.
