IPFW scored twice in the first half to take a 2-0 lead, but the Bulldogs answered when Griswold found the net in the 78th minute. Just 50 seconds later, IPFW's Arianne Mason scored to put the Mastodons back up 3-1.
Scott put a shot past the IPFW keeper in the 86th minute to pull BU within 3-2. Freshman Ann Zerfas was credited with an assist.
Butler played two goalkeepers, with senior Natalie Galovska and sophomore Julie Burton each playing 45 minutes. Galovska, who is playing in goal after three seasons in the field, played the first half.
Butler took 13 shots to IPFW's 11, with both teams putting five shots on goal. BU had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
Butler will play at Kansas in its second and final exhibition Sunday, Aug. 14 at 2 p.m. ET. The regular season opener is Friday, Aug. 19 against Madonna University at the Butler Bowl.
