The Butler women's soccer, with 10 days of rest behind them, will take on league-leading Milwaukee Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Butler Bowl. The match will be a remake of last season's Horizon League Soccer Championship final, which was won by UWM.

Butler is coming off a long lay-off, which has allowed the team to gain rest and heal some minor injuries. BU last played Wednesday, Oct. 5, a 1-0 loss to Cleveland State. Butler controlled play in that match, posting sizable advantages in shots (15-6) and corner kicks (12-1).

Milwaukee comes to the Butler Bowl this weekend currently ranked 12th in the NSCAA Coaches Poll and 11th in the NCAA RPI. Butler won at Milwaukee last October, a 1-0 victory that served as the tie-breaker for the regular season title and top tournament seed. Current junior Katie Griswold scored in the 17th minute of that match and the Bulldogs got 10 saves from goalkeeper Olivia Walter in the win. The two teams would eventually meet in the league tourney final, which Milwaukee won at the Butler Bowl.

Milwaukee is led by the Horizon League's all-time leading scorer, Sarah Hagen. Hagen has 37 points this season (16g, 5a) and has been named Horizon League Player of the Week three times this season. The Panthers have outscored opponents 33-8 this season and their lone blemish was a double-overtime loss to Marquette on Sept. 7.

Griswold and freshman Elise Kotsakis lead Butler with 10 points each. Kotsakis has three game-winning goals on the year. Recently, a trio of Bulldogs were mentioned among the Horizon League's best by Top Drawer Soccer.

Including Saturday's tilt with the Panthers, the Bulldogs have four matches remaining on their regular season schedule. BU is at Valparaiso and Green Bay after playing Milwaukee, and it will close the regular season vs. Loyola at the Butler Bowl Friday, Oct. 28.
