Oct. 5, 2007
Dayton, Ohio - A goal in the 27th minute of play by Wright State would provide the margin against Butler on Friday (Oct. 5) evening at Alumni Field the Bulldogs would be unable to hit the tying marker in a 1-0 defeat to the Raiders.
A pass from Jess Rooma found Amber Kasmer in stride, who went one-on-one with goalkeeper Annalise Larkin before sending the only score of the night into the far post from eight yards out at 26:01 of the match.
The Butler defense would stand tough throughout the remainder of the match, breaking up nine of the Raiders 10 shots on the night, but the Bulldogs would be unable to get the matching score.
It was the sixth time in 11 matches this season that the Butler defense held its opponent to just one or no goals.
Butler returns to Indianapolis on Sunday (Oct. 7) when they host Detroit beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Varsity Field. Prior to the contest, the Bulldogs will recognize their three seniors: Larkin, Laura Miller and Ashley Twehues.
