Indianapolis, Ind. - A goal in the 83rd minute of play by junior Angie Muir sealed a 1-0 victory for the Bulldogs over Detroit on Sunday (Oct. 7) afternoon at Varsity Field.

The Bulldogs riddled the opposing goal with shots throughout the match, tallying 23 to the Titan's 11, including an 11-2 margin in the first half alone.

The Butler barrage would finally yield pay dirt late in the match, as the freshman Lindsey Fox cleared the ball from in front of the net to the right side to Muir, who side-stepped a defender before burying a shot into the far side of the net.

The Bulldog defense, meanwhile, clamped down to register the team's second shut-out in the last three contests.

Sophomore Carrie Twyman came off the bench to lead the team with eight shots, with Muir tallying six and Fox five. Senior goalkeeper Annalise Larkin made six saves.

Prior to the match, seniors Larkin, Laura Miller and Ashley Twehues were honored for their contributions during their careers.

Butler returns to action on Friday (Oct. 12) when they host league-foe Green Bay beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Varsity Field.
