Norman, Okla. - A header by Abbie Kaul off a free kick from Angie Muir proved to be the difference in a tightly-contested defensive battle on Sunday (Oct. 21), as the Bulldogs came away with a 1-0 victory over Oklahoma at John Crain Field.

Kaul had a free path to the net after Muir sent in the pass in the 64th minute of play, as the sophomore midfielder headed the ball in the box past the hands of the Sooner goalkeeper for the go-ahead score.

The goal was Kaul's second of the year.

Meanwhile, the Butler defense held Oklahoma to just two shots on goal, as the Bulldogs out-shot the Sooners, 10-9, in the match.

Annalise Larkin played the full 90 minutes in net, making a pair of saves. Muir, Carrie Twyman and Lindsey Fox each had three shots in the match.

With the win, Butler improves to 6-8-1 on the year.

The Bulldogs return to Indianapolis on Tuesday (Oct. 23) when they host cross-town rival IUPUI at Varsity Field beginning at 4:00 p.m.
