First Half Offense Leads Hoosiers Past Butler, 4-0

Indiana used four goals in the match's first 12 minutes to upend visiting Butler, 4-0, Friday night in Bloomington. The teams played the last 78 minutes without a score, but the Hoosiers' early offense was more than enough for the win. Sophomore Marcie Stucky had a team-high three shots for the Bulldogs, who open their postseason Thursday.
Senior Katie Sanders played the first half in goal for the Bulldogs and took the loss. Goalies Megan Cappa and Annalise Larkin saw time in net in the second half, holding the Hoosiers without a score.
Indiana got scores from Kim Grodek (two), Kristin Radcliffe and Megan Pipkens, as the Hoosiers improve to 9-6-3 on the season. Butler falls to 7-9-2.
Butler will host the Horizon League Championships beginning Thursday. The four quarterfinal matches are set for Kuntz Stadium Thursday with action shifting to Varsity Field on the Butler campus Friday and Sunday. Butler has secured the third seed in the tournament and will play at 5:30 p.m. Thursday night at Kuntz.
