Indianapolis, Ind. - After putting together an all-around impressive first-year performance as a member of the Bulldogs, Butler midfielder Molly Kruger was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) adidas All-Great Lakes Region Second Team.
Kruger was one of 11 players and just three midfielders named to the all-region second team. She is also the first Butler player to be honored by the NSCAA since Meredith Buemi in 2005 and only the seventh in program history.
The Carmel, Ind., native led the Bulldogs with 31 points on 11 goals and nine assists in 2008. All three of her statistics were among the best single-season marks in school history, with her 31 points ranking as the fourth-most all-time, her nine assists tied for fourth and her 11 scores tied for the ninth-best single-season total in the record books.
Kruger's performance on the field helped her to earn a spot on the All-Horizon League First Team and the All-Horizon League Newcomer Team, while her excellence in the classroom (3.40 grade point average as a speech major) saw her receive mention on the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District V First Team.
