The Bulldogs won 13 of their final 19 games, including three in the Horizon League Tournament. The final victory gave Butler a fourth place tournament finish and 26 wins for the year, matching the Butler single season record set in 1982 and tied in 2007. The Bulldogs also set a school record for Horizon League wins with 12, breaking the previous mark of 10 set in 1998. Butler, picked seventh in the preseason poll of league coaches, rebounded from a 6-16 start and wound up finishing fifth in the league regular season race.
