Jeanne Rayman Resigns As Butler Softball Coach
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Jeanne Rayman has resigned her position as
head softball coach at Butler University, effective Friday (May
21). The former Butler softball player recently completed her
fourth season as head coach of the Bulldogs.
Rayman, a 1990 Butler graduate, was named Butler’s head coach
in September of 2006, and she led the Bulldogs to a 105-100 record
in her four seasons. This spring, she guided Butler to a
36-19 campaign and a tie for fifth place in the Horizon
League. The 36 wins were the most in the program’s
history.
Rayman (then Jeanne Stephens) was a four-year starter and four-year
all-conference player for the Bulldogs, 1987-90. She led the
Bulldogs in hitting in each of her final two seasons, and she was
named the team’s Most Valuable Player twice.
Butler will begin a search for a new softball coach immediately.
