Meaghan Sullivan Named Horizon League Player of the Week
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Butler freshman Meaghan Sullivan, who
helped lead the Bulldogs to a 5-2 week, has been named Horizon
League Softball Player of the Week for the week ending April
4. She’s the first Butler position player to be honored
this spring.
Sullivan, a starting infielder, batted .556 in Butler’s seven
games last week. She was six for nine, while helping Butler
to a pair of wins in a three-game league series with UIC. And
she was four for six in Butler’s non-league, doubleheader
sweep of Eastern Illinois. The Wheaton, Ill., player had a
slugging percentage of .722 and an on-base percentage of .600 for
the week. Her 10 hits included three doubles.
Butler improved to 31-9 on the season with the three victories last
week. The 31 wins are a school-record.
