Meaghan Slack, a former collegiate softball player at Lake Land College and IUPUI, joined the staff of Butler softball coach Scott Hall in 2010. She is now in her second season with the Bulldogs. She has primary responsibility for Butler’s outfielders and hitting instruction, while assisting with recruiting, fund-raising and team travel.
Slack was a two-year member of the softball squad at Lake Land and played on the school’s first team to reach the national tournament. She moved on to IUPUI, where she played for two more seasons, serving as a team captain for the Jaguars as a senior.
In addition to her playing career, Slack has remained active in softball coaching and instruction. She served as an instructor at the Take It To The Limit Softball Academy from September, 2003, to May, 2008, and she has served as an instructor and marketing manager at Real Zone Softball since 2008. She’s also worked in web design for softball organizations since 2008.
Slack began her coaching career as an assistant coach for the Indiana Angels in Greenwood, Indiana, in 2007. She also served as an assistant to Head Coach Maggie Calcaterra at IUPUI from May to August in 2008.
The Butler coach earned an Associates in Science degree in business administration from Lake Land in 2006. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and supply chain management from IUPUI in 2008.
